A unique experience that is tranquil, and with like-minded people. The guided canoe tour will start in the daylight, to allow time for you to get used to paddling the canoe.
The tour includes exploration of hidden coves and remote islands that are not accessible on foot, plus a stop off at a secluded bay to sit round a campfire to watch the sun set over the magnificent mountain scenery.

Scrambling or mountaineering is an activity likened to walking and rock climbing. Under the leadership and watchful eye of an experienced Mountaineer at Ambleside Adventure [Adventure Peaks Ltd] you will be introduced to the skills necessary to go scrambling independently and start exploring local mountain routes, then advance to Jack's Rake, Harrison Stickle, and Pike o'Stickle.

A must for the more energetic guests. Low Wood Bay Sports Centre, at Windermere offers sailing, flyboarding, boat hire, dinghy, keelboat sailing, canoeing, kayaking, waterskiing, wakeboarding, paddles boarding, and power-boating, whilst taking in the inspiring views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells.

The Lake District is the perfect place to enjoy outdoor swimming. It is both invigorating and thrilling to submerge in natural waters. We have created a collective of some much loved places that are nearby.
We recommend that you never swimming alone, or at least let someone know where you are going. Ensure that you are kitted out with footwear and swimwear. Bright orange inflatable buoys are great for spotting your location should you need to be found, so we believe they are worth investing in. Remember to take a towel and warm clothing with you, and wash yourself and your kit when you return back to Lowfield House.
Rydal Water is a beautiful small, quiet lake near Grasmere Village, frequented only by rowing boats and paddleboards.

Rydal Water 'White Moss Car Park is just a 7 miles from Lowfield House, so you can be ready to walk through the woodlands to the southern end of the lake after a 17 minute drive. Just 2 minutes into your return journey, you can stop off at the Badger Bar for a hot drink and cake after your swim. Badger Bar is 2 minutes from the car park.
